My first Pilates experience
It’s no secret that I love fitness. I love a good workout, and I’m willing to try anything once! So when I was invited to attend an influencer event at Club Pilates, while I was scared and definitely Googled, “What is Pilates?” I was excited to give it a try!
Pilates is best described as “Contrology” and promotes time under tension and slow, controlled movements. The reformer, something I would compare to a Total Gym, offered some lower body exercises and amazing stretches. The spring board gave my triceps a nice little burn.
When I was unsure if I was doing a move correctly, I would glance at the girls next to me. We’d share an unsure or an awkward giggle and realize, you’re only doing it wrong if you don’t try!
The instructor was patient, clear, and so very encouraging! This particular class which was called, “Beginner Flow” was very much a mix of deep stretching and Yoga, and slightly reminiscent of a particular doctor’s visit where they repeatedly ask you to move down on the table. You know the one! They have class that can match any fitness level and were even prepared to modify the moves for our pregnant mama!
Ultimately, I like weight lifting. I like working out in the comfort of my own home. I like being in my own zone. But through this class I tried some new things, discovered some limitations (I am not bendy at all!) and laughed with the girls. If you’re looking for a great local place with instructor-led class that will challenge you at any fitness level, I’d say give Club Pilates a try!

And in 30 session, you’ll have a whole new body.”
